Big Data Insights in Healthcare, Part I. Great Ideas Transcend Time
Early adopters of technology are afforded many benefits, but they also run the risk of encountering many consequences. Seeing opportunity where others see risk, visionaries are able to adopt and adapt new technologies to their business to gain a competitive advantage.
This process isn’t anything new; it has been occurring throughout time. Abraham Lincoln, a visionary of extraordinary proportions, was himself an early adopter of technology. Looking to gain a competitive advantage over the Confederate Army during the Civil war, Lincoln turned to the technology of his time and adapted it to his war room work streams.
In this blog series, I discuss how modern healthcare has much to gain by its adoption of big data; however, systemic challenges need to be addressed before healthcare can realize the full value of big data.
